HISTORY OF ABGL & BMSL

ABGL was established in August 2013 and started operations in September 2013 to sort, select, load and haul 2m tons of rocks for Takoradi Port Expansion, which was to be executed within 18 months. The project was completed in 13 months, September 2014. After the execution of this project, there was no other contract existing and we were to wind up and leave. But BGT realizing the business potential in Africa decided to stay in Ghana and use Ghana as its base to explore the African market.

So in February 2015, ABGL had a breakthrough in the mining sector with Abosso Goldfields Limited (AGL) to rehandle stock pile of tailings materials which was worth USD 200,000. During the execution it came to fore that we needed Minerals Commission operating permit and ABGL could not operate both in the mining sector and any other sector. So Bilal Mining Services Limited (BMSL) was registered to take over all mining contract of ABGL and focus on prospects in the mining sector, whereas ABGL focus on Civil engineering works, haulage and any other prospects outside the mining sector that are available.

BMSL officially took over all mining contracts in September 2015 from ABGL, when we had 2 running contracts with AGL. It intensified its aggressiveness for jobs in the mining industry and by end of 2016 it was working in 5 satellites pits at AGL. Between 2016 & 2017 we were operating in all the pits of AGL, because AGL had then parked all its equipment. We had no long term contract from AGL during those period because the tender for those pits were tendered much earlier before we entered mining and was awarded to BCM & E&P in March 2017. But still we have being working at AGL on an ad-hoc basis. During 2016, we also made inroads at Chirano Gold Mines Limited (CGML), for equipment rental for a period of 4 months. And due to our impressive performance and safety records we were awarded a contract for a 7m raise for Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) worth USD 7m by CGML which was to be executed within 9 months but was completed within 6 months.

ABGL has since September 2015, concentrated on civil works and haulage. We also hauled manganese for Ghana Manganese Company (GMC) and executed earth works for Afcon Infrastructure for the Tema – Akosombo railway project.
